Rumours of revision revision?
So a couple of our less awful managers have claimed that starting "late January" the last lot of revisions are going to be "revised properly" and walks rejigged so everyone has a similar amount of calls in the same area. Anyone else heard such a thing, or is it local to me (or just a lie)?
At least 2 of our rurals and 3 of the firms have a street 15+ minutes drive away from the '21 revision, and a street 15+ minutes in the totally opposite direction that was added this year, meaning that those parts fail regularly as the walks are already 20+ minutes from the DO wherever you choose to start. In fact our COM made a point of loudly and publicly telling his superior (whatever they call that, area manager or something) that walks were being made impossible and was told "that's your problem"

Re: Rumours of revision revision?
yup, our management have finally realised the last lot of revisions are an absolute pile of undoable shite, and have decided to create some part time duties by putting 125 hours back in and taking some of the 'pressure' loops back off. not enough hours being put back in but its a start. they have also asked us to remain on the earlier starts for now. somebody must've knocked some sense into them. lets see if it lasts or even better...improves.

Re: Rumours of revision revision?
Manager has said we're going to have a revision again. This could be 'cos the last one was a cluster or because aren't there network changes due to be happening? - or it could be a combination of both factors.

Re: Rumours of revision revision?
I have the feeling that these revisions will fail because (once again) they will be based on incomplete and/or incorrect Route Manager data. Unless (and this is hugely unlikely) your office's Route Manager is entirely up to date for all walks, there will be errors. The further Route Manager mapping and route sequencing are from reality, the worse it will be.
I understand that these revisions will be widespread, not confined to just a few offices.

Re: Rumours of revision revision?
We suspect ours was cancelled in readiness for the later starts and finish coming in soon.

Re: Rumours of revision revision?
If RM are serious about addressing the dire quality of service in our office then there surely will be another revision. Unfortunately, the RM senior bods don't like to admit that they are wrong, so whilst it takes them a day to get rid of frames it will be months or even years to get them put back in again.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Re: Rumours of revision revision?
COMs to be ordered by the managers above them to remove x hours from their DO (and probably x number of walks as a result)?
Will be interesting to see the changes, we can see them a bit in the MC by the changes to the CSS batches

Don't expect it to be an improvement, just another round slashing, money saving exercise. We no they want one more gone from our office.
I'm turning purple!

Re: Rumours of revision revision?
Earlier in the week, manager told us all revisions were cancelled in agreement with CWU. Presumably not just our office.

Re: Rumours of revision revision?
If that's just a local agreement I doubt it'll be worth the paper it's printed on. The COM will just be ordered to implement the revisions anyway

Re: Rumours of revision revision?
The more time in the office they less time walking. Looking forward to a 3 hour walk.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑17 Dec 2023, 21:32If that's just a local agreement I doubt it'll be worth the paper it's printed on. The COM will just be ordered to implement the revisions anyway

Re: Rumours of revision revision?
We heard it’s your prep time at your frame their coming after this time. Want to cut it and dump sorting or double prep on you

Re: Rumours of revision revision?
I don't think it's a case of putting frames back, from what our managers have claimed (and yes, a pinch of salt is required) it's going to be a full rejigging of all walks so all your drops are in a certain radius instead of getting people to drive an extra 20 minutes for half a street
