Swollen fingers and inflammation

Post by nobLe97 »

Hello Everyone,

Hoping you could help me with an issue. I have been a postie for a few years now and this is the first time this has happend. My fingers around the second joints have swollen and gone inflamed. It started about a month ago, then I was off for a week and it completely went. Now it has started again. Just wondering if anyone has had anything similar over the years? Been to doctors and waiting for blood tests, I’m 26 btw.

Reminds me of the above, my wife had it years ago. She'd have cold and warm bits on the same fingers. Used be triggered by getting cold hands at winter time.

I used to wear a pair of these over winter, seemed to last 2-3 winters before the neoprene gave up. The leather palms are good and prevents the usual cutting you get on gloves from holding a bundle. The thumb and finger cut offs allow you to flick through letters and use the PDA.

I suffer from osteoarthritis and problems with my legs, back, neck etc. Far too many years as a Delivery Postman before I moved to Driving. Those finger less gloves in the winter, didn't help.
At a glance, your's does look like what I have. Do your knuckles feel rough and dry? Although you will find out off your Doctor soon enough.

Possibly Chilblains, I suffered with them every winter working outdoors in the cold weather
