Importance of Door to Door during Peak - I know it's hard but....here is an example.

Salvation Army's annual Christmas appeal relies on us delivering their Door to Door campaign in a timely manner.
They are sending out 8m items this week and it is vital that we deliver every single item to every single address in the areas they have booked.

Not only are they an important customer of Royal Mail but their work also makes a significant difference to tens of thousands of people every year, and this campaign is a major fundraiser to enable them to do that.

So please deliver this campaign knowing that it will make a difference.

Please look out for them on delivery frames and lets do our best...

I take it RM have giving the Salvation Army a discount or maybe even delivering this campaign for free seeing they care so much?

I have the usual supermarket leaflet which turned to mush in todays rain

If RM hadn't made the walks too big for us to manage delivering tons of the parcels and mail, we might have time to deliver the households too.

Talk about creating a problem then expecting, yet again, for the solution to be for all of us to magic up more time and/or superhuman effort.

The Salvation Army should take their business somewhere else next year, other companies do (reliably) deliver leaflets.

Our duty consists of 2700 council flats, private flats and rented, mostly student houses. We have virtually no owner occupied houses. What d2d do they give us this week? Conservatories and double glazed windows. They just make the company look stupid. Which idiot took that contract? It's not the importance it's all about getting as much money as possible!

The solution to them being sent back to the mail centre in our office is that 7 or 8 at a time are put into the lapsed walks, doesn’t matter how out of date they are they just want to avoid sending them back. If I do the lapsing I always pull them out and stick them back with the other undelivered ones, most just deliver them though. Then it’s repeated next week. You have a busy recycling bin if you live on one of our lapsed walks.

Speaking of our competitors, does Whistl still command most of the D2D market? Used to see their mishallowed name on the D2D boxes all the time because even the damn leaflets are DownStream Access.

Yes. For Royal Mail. If it wasn't they would not do it.

Door to doors are a major waste of time and paper most of the year as it's got to be 90% plus of people don't ever want them. However, at Christmas, sorry Peak, they drain us even more.

Well unfortunately we won't be shifting them by the end of the week at our place ,due to all the overtime being cut for the part time staff,it's a pity that RM don't show a bit of the xmas spirit to their own people,but then again they never have done

We've had two lots of phone books this year, a lot smaller and thinner than the old ones when they were actually relevant, the print in them was that small and poor quality they were incredibly difficult to read, a complete pita to deliver, can't fit in double slots on the fitting, I'd guess that the majority of them went straight in the bin, total waste of someone's money.

You do have time.

Prep your D2D's in as per instructions then cut off because you haven't enough time to complete because you've prepped your walk as required by the company.
