Hi hope someone can answer this is it OH who have to say we recommend IHR or is it HR , my manager says it's OH I've been hanging around for nearly 2yrs I've had 8 referrals to OH and all say the same, my latest one with health partners states I will be unable to return to work and this will be the case for the foreseeable future , my manager insists OH report must say I'm eligible for IHR as you can see I'm stuck, the union says they can't get involved due to confidentiality reasons.

Hi I asked the question myself my DOM said it was down to OH to recommend it in there report and the union agreed , but when I mentioned that to OH doctor in my phone assessment she said they don’t recommend it in reports. When I had my report she said it’s down to RM to recommend it,Im baffled ,but what I do know is after speaking to the grievance dept she said 9 months is what RM give you to return back to work , make adjustments or find alternative work.If it’s classed as a disability then you can put a grievance in as your at an unfair disadvantage to your able bodied colleagues.Not sure if anyone has tried this.

I was ihr earlier this year it isn't OH who recommend ihr it's the management (more senior to line or dom)
I had my final phone conversation with oh and mine had already been approved.
I would request being re referred and starting the process again it doesn't appear to me that management have followed procedure.

Does anyone know how long it takes Payroll to send your final pay advice? I left, (IHR) on 25th November. A payment was made to me on 1st December but I haven't been given a breakdown. I need to let DWP know. Thanks.

There's a Slight difference in Appointments .......

OH is just bog standard Occupational Health which Cannot make suggestion of IH, it's to see how your health impacts you doing your job as well as RM getting the feelers out if they could cater for you. Along with what treatment you are under.

for ill health you'll need what i've just had which is a.....

LTBIH Referal - i'm unsure if that i put a letter of requesting it in or if HR had enough of my fit notes to get that LTBIH referral but this assessment was different.

The IH guy asked me what has happened since my previous OH assessment, then asked me a different set of questions based upon my previous answers.

Thanks to everyone for there post's I had another chat yesterday with my line manager we haven't got a Dom here he is the leed of Comms whatever that means, he has said once again that HR is different these day's giving very few IHR no matter how bad you are , I've just had a referral and he is totally unwilling to do another saying it's £350 per referral, as I said in original post the union will not get involved I spoke to the union rep yesterday he said they cannot get involved due to confidentiality also they can't arm wrestle HR into giving IHR, it does seem the people who got IHR recently are very lucky I suppose people like me will have to battle on and just keep the sick notes going in , time's have certainly changed management don't want to help and the union is even worse, thanks once again for your replies.

They cant deny you it. Discrimination, you can put in a massive complaint vs the company if needed. Its on health grounds and mental act too. Keep positive

I am putting in a grievance letter to my senior manager on disability discrimination,I have all the evidence I need to take it to a tribunal,I spoke to ACAS just in case I get refused. I will have nothing to lose especially if they end up paying out more.

Thanks once again for your replies I have but a grievance to HR about the way my manager has spoken to me, as a person who is retirement age,( if there is one ) he has told me just leave and give a younger person a chance in life , what a way of of telling someone with nearly 40yrs in service it really is beyond belief thanks everyone.

@Sean06 hi after the last meeting with my union official I told him as they cannot assist me any further I am and will on Monday cease my contributions to the cwu , as l told him why pay for a service that I am not getting he just said if I can do better out the union then leave, that sealed it for me to leave the cwu as from tomorrow when I contact HR to cease contribution.
