It amazes me how poorly some offices are run. It is clear to me though with posts like this, that a bad revision is what ultimately causes this. Once it is in place you are screwed from that point on and you can’t paper over the cracks just by throwing extra staff at it.
The most tracked I have had on a 700 call duty this year so far, is 104. There are obviously additional regular parcels on top of that, and that isn’t counting the parcels my relief takes off me. They are crazy numbers you are dealing with.
Are you on singleton duty then Lou? I'm paired up on a van share. We both know that it's impossible to get all the parcels from both duties in a small van and that's why they brought in packet drivers and agency staff and they are using the bigger vans. Even then the van is still rammed with parcels.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Are some van shares getting near the point of needing high sided transit vans with shelves inside?

No I’m on a shared van. I only ever keep track of my own numbers but mine is definitely the busier round. We have the smaller electric van and have no capacity issues.

We don't have any electric vans at our depot. Think they are bigger than the smaller standard vauxhall combo vans? Must say it's frustrating when we put the trolleys in as they just often up being nested on top of the pouches/parcels and you end throwing them around just to get at the parcels.

I doubt they can deliver more parcels during a regular shift if they had bigger capacity vans given 100/120 tracked plus mail is really the maximum for a normal duty on a housing estates.
