I left in May via ill health retirement after 20 years.
I didn't even get a good bye thank you for youre service..nothing!!
Being out of there was scary at first but I'm actually looking forward to Christmas as apposed to dreading it every year.
The place wasn't the same when I left all the old characters were long gone and everybody else treated like cattle.
Good luck to anyone who decides that they've had enough.

Does anyone know how the annual leave works when leaving? I've got a few odd days owing plus 2 weeks in Jan, would I be entitled to any pay?

As for the money owed, speak to either your local or area rep to get it sorted.

I was owed a lot, because of carrying over hundreds of hours, due to being told NO every time I tried to book time off.

Nothing wrong with looking and posting on this forum when you've left. Some of my colleagues and friends are now ex-royal mail and I suppose when you've done quite a few years it's in the blood. It's also a tribute to how popular and well run this forum is.

Left over a year ago after 23 years service. I look in here every now and then to see what’s going down . Feel for all remaining staff. I will say though as daunting as it was leaving , not having to do a Christmas pressure this year is the biggest breath of fresh air. I work indoors now and have such a more relaxed work environment.
I knew last year after the strikes not working out things would get bad and they sound way bad now.
Anyone thinking of leaving. You’ll not look back. There’s way more to life than that slave job. Royal epic Fail !!
Your mind and body will thank you the most upon leaving.

I've just left on IHR after 32 years service. Used to love the job but that all changed a few years ago due to bullying and incompetent managers. Good luck to all posties for the future. Unfortunately I think its going to be a nightmare.

Looking forward to my first Christmas with family not spent asleep. I still check in here because I really do give a about the people still trying to make it work. Today I'm working from home, which I do a day a week which is lovely. Next week I need leave at short notice and guess what- çno problemo. The way to my new job takes me past the last round I did and I think about the poor soul who's killing themselves to do it on s**t winter hours and for no thanks. I'm never going to stop thinking of you guys. Hope you get a decent Xmas.

Don't get down. You never know what's going to happen. I'd say the union needs a new executive who'll fight for delivery workers frankly awful conditions.

I'm still here till the new year so will be my last Christmas, I'll miss the banter and 99% of the lads n lassies but not much else.

It does cross my mind if it's the correct decision, I guess being there so long does that to you and it will be mighty strange!

Getting out before my 50s so hopefully my body will thank me if nobody else!
