Re: no letters delivered
So what?
If you don't have the resources available to deliver everything what do you do?
I bet they delivered Special Delivery letters.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: no letters delivered
When it comes to prioritising RM will always opt for delivering parcels over the letters. The standard excuse from our managers is that packets take up the space in a delivery office and due to health and safety
they need to clear those items first.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Re: no letters delivered
OK the amount of packets coming into the DO at the moment is almost insurmountable, so we'll done to every person who has worked in delivery trying to achieve as much as possible each day.It is a massive amount of work for us to try and complete each day,and an enormous amount of goodwill from each and everyone of us, without that there would be, and with reading these blogs, already a massive backlog in delivery, you know the Christmas pressure each year is all about us, we know what to expect, but the revisions and the massive amount of packets , the shortage of workers ,sick absentees, I hope people will eventually get their letters and packets in time this year.......

Re: no letters delivered
It's doable, we've been clearing with a bit of can do and going over by about half hour. Ya know like we used to do at this time of year. Or we can kick off and be miserable that a private company wants us to work the minutes we get paid. And yes that's with a full massive e-van. There is no mail! Crack on with our new parcel job!

Re: no letters delivered
It seems to be varying by area, locally it hasn't been that much busier for any streams. We've just started to notice a few Xmas cards passing through. RM are forecasting that when the Tracked hits peak volumes, it'll be noticeably over our absolute maximum capacity so some runs then from the MC to the DOs will likely be just Tracked and SDs if there's any room left1617mel wrote: ↑03 Dec 2023, 07:51OK the amount of packets coming into the DO at the moment is almost insurmountable, so we'll done to every person who has worked in delivery trying to achieve as much as possible each day.It is a massive amount of work for us to try and complete each day,and an enormous amount of goodwill from each and everyone of us, without that there would be, and with reading these blogs, already a massive backlog in delivery, you know the Christmas pressure each year is all about us, we know what to expect, but the revisions and the massive amount of packets , the shortage of workers ,sick absentees, I hope people will eventually get their letters and packets in time this year.......

Yeah i think some people struggle with the notion that not all jobs are equal.Rve83ndxd wrote: ↑03 Dec 2023, 09:40I love to see you doing my 6 hour (soon to be increased to 7) in the 4 hours allotted.cornstar18 wrote: ↑03 Dec 2023, 08:26It's doable, we've been clearing with a bit of can do and going over by about half hour. Re: no letters delivered
IM sorry but people have paid to have their 1st class letters delivered in a time specified too buy a regulator which is law by the way ,all items paid for should be treated the same or this means they are breaking the law ,now if its said like you do they haven't enough resources then on alternative days all letters should go out and not parcels, royal mail are in breach of the law everyday and should be fined accordingly until as of such time the company stops paying shareholders millions of pounds out of a company which is failing to work within the law. These companies should be brought to book and made an example of ,the water companies too ,the trouble we have is they are all the mates of the Tories.clashcityrocker wrote: ↑02 Dec 2023, 20:55So what?

No letters in our office either, wonder if OFCOM have the balls to fine them again because they are literally laughing in the face of British law at the moment.

Re: no letters delivered
Packets and Tracked have had priority in MCs for many years. If the packets or Tracked sections are in the s**t, flats and manual letters will get sacrificed to free up enough staff to clear the packets and Trackedguardianangel wrote: ↑03 Dec 2023, 09:59IM sorry but people have paid to have their 1st class letters delivered in a time specified too buy a regulator which is law by the way ,all items paid for should be treated the same or this means they are breaking the law ,now if its said like you do they haven't enough resources then on alternative days all letters should go out and not parcels, royal mail are in breach of the law everyday and should be fined accordingly until as of such time the company stops paying shareholders millions of pounds out of a company which is failing to work within the law. These companies should be brought to book and made an example of ,the water companies too ,the trouble we have is they are all the mates of the Tories.clashcityrocker wrote: ↑02 Dec 2023, 20:55So what?
