Same here and I've brought Tracked items back to the office but my PDA still says 100% Tracked items delivered?? If RM are using our PDA data as a basis for the bonus then the figures are obviously false?

I would say let someone who wants to complete the Delivery do it and ask for a packet duty or a collection duty. I’ve worked for Royal Mail over 20 years and have the usual childcare issues but f**k me if u dnt wanna work over Xmas id bugger off somewhere else tbh

So because they don’t want to work over there time at Xmas they should quit?? Why ? Most of our office refuse to work over there time so should they all quit

I would say so tbh, fair enough the rest of the year but at Xmas it’s time to nut up as far as I’m concerned. this woe is me shite is wearing pretty thin, any of us cld go clean toilets for 10.40 an hour

We don’t seem to have any issues with working to time right now. We have dedicated oversize parcel deliveries taking town parcels after night sorting for 7am delivery which is helping them out. Given letter traffic hasn’t kicked on yet it will be interesting to see how this develops once cards enter the equation. Managers seem to be prioritising pushing rural deliveries out as early as possible which seems fair enough as they don’t really have the same assistance as the town duties.

I'd rather not work until 7 o'clock thanks. It wasn't my decision not to replace staff and to increase duty size so I won't be responsible for it. I also won't 'woe is me' about it. I'll happily just get on with my duty and let the managers stress about their job, they get paid the big bucks to. They can show me the door if they like but my family will always come first.

It is a demanding time of year all around, not just at work. You only live once and I'll never bemoan where people choose to spend their time. The top two biggest regrets people have on their deathbeds are, "I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me," and "I wish I never worked so hard." Amazingly I wish I worked harder doesn't make the list.

The demand to work over should drop this week anyway with the start of parcel drivers.

Nothing to do with management it’s about having pride in your work and serving the public whom we let down last year. Anyone not wanting to work just step off and take a back seat, I’ll personally clear all and claim the OT as per

Heraldmoth - I know guys who work their asses of 'to time' and I know guys who do sweat FA and claim O/T while doing half the work the other guy does. Who should take pride in their work there??
I do a fair days work for a fair days pay and go home on time. Will be doing the same at Christmas. No-one in 10 years has once questioned my commitment or performance.
If you want the O/T and are prepared to work hard for it, fair play to you. I've got no problem at all with that approach. Make hay while you can. But don't criticise those who aren't interested. We owe this company NOTHING. If it impacts on the public its RM managements problem NOT ours!
