I'm currently on a 35 hour contract putting £60 into a flexiplan each week. Soon i'm going down to a 24 hour contract. Does anyone know the most i can put in without going over PSE? Be much appreciated :thumbup

you need to make sure you dont drop below the minimum wage currently £10.42 but this is changing in April to £11.44.

minimum you would need as pay

24 hrs x £10.42 = £250.08

24 hrs X £11.44 = £274.56

A lot of people will have to reduce avc payments to stay in pse before April.

Pretty certain you also need to incude any other stuff you may have purchased using pse, bikes cars etc

I'm on a 37 hr contract and reduced my AVCs previously. I'm currently paying £89.88 total and am within PSE. How would I work out the new figure I should pay to stay within PSE? I am aware of the 2% increase due in April. Many thanks.

if you can work out your hourly rate then it should be a big help because you just deduct the minimum wage rate from that, and multiply the difference by your hours, this should give close to the max you can pay and stay in pse.
don’t get too close though, sometimes you may fall out of the pse, and don’t forget to deduct any other pse you might have too, like the bikes or cars tvs etc.

With each payment paid into pse it reduces you hourly rate and you have to keep it above the minimum wage for this to work.

I also wonder if the new sick pay system might play a part too.

but a quick calc to show the change to make before April
the minimum wage for your hrs are
35 x £10.42= 364.70
And this will become
35 x £11.44 - 400.40

that’s £35.70, quite a drop in what you can pay in, but the pay increase will also increase your hr rate so it will be a bit different
