Mr Winrow v Royal Mail Group Limited
Case No: 2405090/2022
We will likely see a flood of Judgments succeed against Royal Mail. The Employment Tribunal have caught up from 2022. A unanimously decisive victory for the claimant.
This is significant because it means in some circumstances, a bicycle on delivery is deemed necessary regardless of Royal Mail policy, certainly in relation to the Liverpool duty (610), to deny use of the bicycle could breach Employment Law.
I will update reasons if or when available.

I'm intrigued about the bicycle aspect. Pashleys coming back in 2024?

I wonder if the 2010 equality act would help the over 50's when they keep getting dragged in the office to say your not going quick enough because 22 year old johnny can complete your delivery why cant you.

Pointless judgement really as bikes will never return. They can't hold that much, can't hold any packets and from a security point of view totally unsuitable as a thief could just ride off with the contents

Needs to have a way to mechanically lock the wheels in place, which can't be easily bypassed

I'm losing track of all the fantastical eco-friendly vehicles that keep getting showcased in the company PR. I've yet to see any displace a single 2011 Combo from the yard.
