Those of us who wanted secure employment going forward. Do we need to do this over and over again? You lost and comprehensively. Get over it and move on or find another job if you can’t. Do us all a favour.
Who lost? After the lump sums have been long forgotten, the only winners in this game in the long run are the RM board and it's shareholders.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

The people who voted for insecurity lost. People who would rather sink the company and their own careers.

Remind me how long this deal was for? There are no compulsory redundancies until 2025. In the meantime, the company have already reduced terms and cons and have recruited staff on less pay. The only people who can sink the company are the ones at the top that are running it.

And voting no changed that how? People were being recruited on reduced terms long before this dispute. I can’t believe we are still doing this shitty rodeo honestly. The vote is done. You should have made this much of a deal when privatisation was mooted.

We all know the vote is done. But to say that those people who voted for insecurity "lost" does not take into account the thousands of people who have since left the business.

We all know that it's heading south very quickly and you're right what you're saying that the rot started with privatisation. And unfortunately the shitty rodeo still continues when anyone says how great the deal is and that anyone who voted otherwise "lost".

Nobody is pretending the deal was ‘great’. It was the best of two bad options.

No, the union folded because likely the company threatened them with removing subs from the payroll.

It was self-preservation over fighting for the rights of the members.

Yeah it was definitely this wild conspiracy theory and not the company leaking money which is why the union compromised on a dispute that went on for nearly a year. I can’t believe this nonsense is still being posted. Move on.

I do wish you would stop arguing with Lou, he will never admit to anything other than "I am right" and "You lot are all wrong".
Sometimes what he says can ring true, but the majority are all about what he is peddling as the truth.
And when he runs out of ideas it comes down to bullying, harassment and stalking him as his default mode.
Mind you there's one in my office the same, a thin-skinned MF who runs to the manager at the slightest umbrage.
Best to ignore him then maybe he will go away. But i doubt it!

MWalker, when was the last time you did a 5.5 hour walk?

From your postings, both content and volume, It seems clear that Royal Mail is the most important thing to you and takes up much/all of your time. Are you currently unemployed? If so, why don’t you apply to RM and and see if they’ll consider having you back? Indeed, given your obsession, and because workforce standards have changed exponentially - and for the better, I hasten to add - perhaps you could do some voluntary work in your local DO/MC to see if if you can meet the high standards the business expects. Of course, an added bonus is you can then also be a bona fide, fully signed up member of this forum.

PS: The “shitey” new contracts still beat anything else available in the job marketplace by a long margin so only half joking when I suggest you reapply to join the family.

Why don’t you request to be transferred onto the new contract since you think it’s great. 🤔

She’s a new starter so is already on the new contract.

Changing topic Royal Mail struggled to recruit on delivery way before they changed the contacts the only difference is now you are going straight into full time employment.

Now with the job getting harder and must less feasible to working parents I don’t see their retention problem relenting any time soon.
