For those who say “you get what you sign up for.” Etc. How would you feel earning £440 a month less than the postman/women beside you, full time equivalent. Just look after yourself lads. No wonder this place if f——ed.

I know it seems harsh but it literally is what they sign up too, us mere posties can't effect a change for any new starts that would be the unions job.
We aren't just looking after ourselves, we can't physically do anything to help the new starts.
The place is fecked because the union won't or cannot take this company to task over what they have signed up to in the pay/surrender deal.

Think it’s time for a new union then. Look at the RMT. That’s the way it’s done. They don’t take any nonsense from the far right media. Or indeed, the train companies. That’s a union for the membership.

None of the new cohort of workers is wanting to join the union at my place. Out of 25 of us who have joined since July, only one has signed up - and he is thinking of cancelling his membership now he knows how the union sold down the river those new starters from Nov 2022 onwards.

None of the new starters at my place is too fussed about the disparity in pay, terms and conditions as we are all getting what we signed up for and are all earning far more than we were doing. What we are fussed about is the fact that, at my place at least, we are all doing much more work than the longstanding employees. By way of example, yesterday my colleague had 164 delivery points and over 215 parcels - seven whole Yorks!

Contrast that with longstanding employee “John” who also does a DPR. John came in at 9.00 am yesterday, toddled around the office for hours gossiping, then sat in the RLE with his feet up while eating his packed lunch, then eventually - at circa 12.00 noon - started to slowly load his van with half a York of parcels, ie, no more than 30 drops, all the while moaning how busy it was getting! This is a daily occurrence. John isn’t the only culprit here - one of more than a handful.

That’s my point though. The fact that the CWU done nothing and have nothing planned to combat the two tiers work force that has been brought in by executive action. Was that not a big part of the reasoning for the strike in the first place??

I've never seen so many vacancies on the job site. They claim pay is 10 percent over the industry average. If they didn't notice RM is in it's own industry despite the fact they hate letters. So the industry average is about £14.20, slowly dropping due to he new starts on less than that.

Not at all. I just find it sad. You’ve either been sacked, and you should then not give a damn, or you’ve left for a better job and you shouldn’t give a damn. It is like me finding a plumbing forum and posting on it. It just doesn’t compute to me. Find a forum dedicated to something still relevant in your life, such as a hobby or something. Don’t hang around riling up people for your own entertainment.
