Designated Traffic Recorders (DTR)
Do Designated Traffic Recorders receive any extra pay for taking on the extra responsibility of booking the mail traffic? I am asking because I perform this role as part of my duty in a Mail Centre and get nothing extra for doing it whilst other colleagues have no responsibility and earn the same as me.

Recording the yorks and trays of letter before sorting or sorted, depending on shift.
On backshift you normally have one that records as filled yorks head up to distribution,
Nightshifts they record before sorting.

I guess the benefit you get over your colleagues is that you wander about with a clipboard all shift !

Normally toading up to and being pally with Managers and being rewarded with a job that doesn't actually entail any actual sorting or working unless you count buying teas for managers and talking loudly about how useless the rest of the staff are work then yep megaloads of work

It’s a big fat no from me.

Re: Designated Traffic Recorders (DTR)
I do plenty of sorting and do not have a clipboard. I also don’t toad up to managers. Next chance I get I will go for a normal duty as do not want extra responsibility for no extra pay. I was merely wondering if other mail centres pay their DTR.
