Being moved off duty for Peak

You done it in “peak” you can do it all year round,bring any work back/cut off & you be pulled up and potentially managed out of job.

If so, it's absolutely crazy....
Why do you have to sign something to commit to deliver..... unless you are getting extra pay / a bonus for doing so.

My guess is that, if you sign a commit to deliver document, then you will be paid OT on the hrs that you are over your contracted hrs and then plus the 'peak incentive bonus' on top, assuming that the local office and national T24/48 / USO targets are met. That's a BIG if! I know my office will NOT hit any of these targets, our dim has not mentioned anything about this incentive bonus, guess he knows that we have no hope. I will be sticking to my contracted hours.

I’d also add it is in their interests to keep you on your duties . We all (and they know) how much quicker you prep a round you’re familiar with. Also out on delivery You know where and who to leave parcels with and it keeps down mis deliveries and re do failures

Dom has been going round office asking people to sign to say they’re committing to clear during “PEAK” period. My van share partner and I are both refusing to sign as neither of us do overtime. We are now apparently being moved of our duty and replaced by people who have signed said document. Is this a nationwide thing? No point in asking REP as he’s not interested (not very good). I really don’t see the point in this decision because I’ll only not complete whatever duty they move me onto.

Get your area rep involved if your local one isn’t doing anything about it.

My office haven’t done this but if they did I wouldn’t sign and they can move me wherever. Commit do deliver. Couple of days off and come back to the mail not being touched and I’m out to whatever time they want. You would need to be crazy to sign that.

Update on situation. I have been advised to ask for written request to commit to complete and to ask Dom to sign request so it can be escalated to grievance and disagreement. No further mention of it so far, apparently there is no agreement for such action, we’ll wait and see.
