Being moved off duty for Peak

Dom has been going round office asking people to sign to say they’re committing to clear during “PEAK” period. My van share partner and I are both refusing to sign as neither of us do overtime. We are now apparently being moved of our duty and replaced by people who have signed said document. Is this a nationwide thing? No point in asking REP as he’s not interested (not very good). I really don’t see the point in this decision because I’ll only not complete whatever duty they move me onto.

You cannot be forced into doing overtime or anything above your contracted hours.
If your Rep is actually agreeing this, get shot of the idiot & get someone with balls to tell management so!

if they move you off your walk, thats even less you can deliver for them. dont give them a minute and leave tracked

It's divide and conquer between those that are willing to 'commit to deliver' to those who cannot.

That’s madness. What if you walk into double mail after your day off? You can only do so much. Definitely don’t sign up for this. If they move you off you will get even less work done on a different duty…

We have loops of mail that’s not been out since Wednesday, focus on tracked they say 🫡 the regular crew are back Monday, they’ll sort it.

That sounds like blackmail. Overtime is NOT compulsory. The only thing that the business has been asking for in the last few years is 30 minutes flex, but it is not COMPULSORY, and we are already giving them an extra 24 minutes a day right now in the form of SEASONAL VARIATIONS.

They tried it in our office but our local rep told us to not sign or agree to it. Unfortunately one bloke had signed it already . He was on delivery and felt like s**t and broke off and got grief from a Lino over it lol. Just tell them no

Why do you have to sign something to commit to deliver..... unless you are getting extra pay / a bonus for doing so.

Rounds in our place aren't even equal. One postie's round actually got smaller in the revision. That round is probably 30+ minutes, possibly even 1 hour+ shorter than the rest.

Absolutely. Anyone signing is setting themselves up. You have nothing to gain from it and it potentially could be used against you.
