In the RM proposal that they put out just before there was an actual agreement new starters would move onto 'old' t and cs after 5 years.

The union didn't like this, wanted it to be a shorter period, so it got kicked into the long grass. Now we're still waiting to hear something, but it seems that what they're looking at now is a new 'grade' of employee (eg a 'trainee' or associate grade), which (we are told) will eventually have the opportunity to become an opg.

The union really needs to sort this out.

Wake up and realise the cwu union don’t care, and are powerless to stop RM.
They only care about having “seat at table”
Are people that blind to see what’s happening right before our eyes?

Does that mean agency are on just over £1 an hour more than those who have recently taken a RM contract. Suppose it's the only way they'll get people in for Christmas and tempted myself to make up my tax free allowance for the year.

At the time I am typing this, the office I left are currently advertising at £12.29 an hour and an agency is advertising the same job in the same office at £13.37 an hour.

That's me back with agency next week after a 4 month break, last stint was over 18 months so no intention of doing it for more than a few months this time, suits me as have other stuff to do in-between.

It will have been delivery staff that voted it in. Delivery staff have always outnumbered MC and RDC staff combined by at least 2:1

I’ve done 30 year’s service and everytime CWU recommends a deal it goes through, the only ones to blame are ward/furey and co.

Sad times 🥲

A two-tier workforce is a farce. It'll only further weaken the union by dividing the workforce, you'll end up with a higher turnover of staff as the job isn't much better than other low paying roles out there, so people won't stay as long therefore won't join the union.

Ward was completely full of it, when he claimed he wouldn't allow a "race to the bottom" or "pulling up the drawbridge on the next generation". Literally all Ward could say about his plans during the dispute was "expanding the role of the postal worker" which we never actually learnt anything about, in other words he was just stringing us all along.
