This would explain why offices have difficulties in covering walks with high sickness levels with stress and new starters jacking it in after a few weeks or even days, some don't even last one day.

This is what we go through almost every day too. The same conversation over and over and nothing ever gets done to resolve the problem. What makes them think the problem is going to just go away on its own? It amazes me that there doesn’t seem to be any consequences for these shitheads to treat us like s**t. There’s nothin they can do btw as long as you follow the procedure. Work your hours and f**k em.

Yes. Get a small and handy diary that you can keep with you. Keep daily notes that may seem trivial at the time but gives you something to review when required. It's hard to recall what happened on a particular day after a week or two. However, if you make a few quick notes per day in a diary you can glance back and mention/list what has occurred.

Me and my partner just laugh at our lino ,we tell him what we think we can do, he tells us what we should do and we do what we said we would do, go back on time and throw the left overs on the bench and go home,its got to the point now he doesn't even talk to us we leave the same everyday and go home,its such a crap job now with low pay its not worth worrying about.

Ask for the official revision duty times, which they wont find. They have used enforced changes while the cwu lambs say nowt - they have no idea how long these walks are now, running scared, buried under the data and chasing targets for their bonuses.

Overtime is not compulsory. Most posties make the mistake of telling managers what they want to leave rather than letting managers actually manage and decide what they want you to take. For all you know they might have willing volunteers in the managers office....

1. They could tell you to deliver the tracked
2. They might prefer you to leave 2 loops
3. They might insist you take everything out with you and give them a call to let them know what you have left to deliver at a certain point and decide from there

Some managers unfortunately make the procedure more stressful than what it is but in our office, cutting off is the only way due to our bonkers revisions.

There's one on the PDA. It's often a bullying tactic used by managers to try and force posties to deliver everything but most posties have had enough and end up bringing mail back anyway. In which case you would either need to be back to the office even earlier to put all the mail back in the frame OR they would need to pay someone the overtime to put it all back in for you.

This, it makes no logical sense.

You do a honest days work and they claim you are slow with no basis...... when you know full well you are efficient and going at a good pace.....

They make you feel like cr@p and that you are not good enough. They are essentially insinuating that you should rush round and take shortcuts....

Instead it makes me want to slow down as I feel like I go to fast as it is......I am not going to be pressured into rushing.


In our office it would be ridiculous if they tried to do someone for bringing mail back when we haven't had any day off cover for 2 and a half years....

Royal Mail are purposefully understaffing us, purposefully making our rounds impossible to deliver..... how can they threaten a postie for 'delaying mail' when they are doing what they are doing!!!!!

Also, there's NOBODY available to go out on overtime and clear mail that I bring back.....nor is there for 30+ other rounds.... we have no staff to clear the mail that's bought back.....so even if we told managers that we are bringing mail back, it would still sit in the office until the next day.

Not on our walks, we work bang up to the last letter time, not a minute before or after, stop & head back to the van, we always tray the last few loops knowing it will most likely be coming back, that gets thrown back in the frame first thing next morning, when the walks eventually hit the fan, usually by Thursday or Friday they give us a extra postie & we go out as a three man crew eat sleep repeat.

Ever since the revisions our walks have also failed every single day. Coming up to peak there will likely be ad-hoc solutions by management rather than just taking the f**ing lapsed loops off the duties permanently.
