Meaning of "CO" on payslip
Could anyone tell me what "CO" means on a payslip please. I've had £74 deducted this month under this abbreviation. It can't be a Court Order I think, so I was wondering if it was anything else. What is the best way to query this? Thank you.

RM apparently think it can be. From the glossary on the app site:
CO: Payment
Court Order deductions are formal decisions of a court, instructing that a debt need to be recovered from your pay. These could include civil debts, maintenance or fines and an employer has a legal obligation to deduct the amounts specified.

Something like that , 2 years ago I had £87 taken under the guise of CO.
Turned out I owed 2 weeks unemployment benefit from 1997. They toom it back from my wage.
They could have just asked me in fairness

Thanks for the help guys. Just messaged HR help desk. Should get a reply within 5 days. Bit worrying that this can happen. Perhaps it's Parking Eye's revenge after 6 years....

I have CO on my wages this week. I know I owe HMRC but they've taken 22.5% of my net pay. I'm still in shock. Be warned, if you owe any tax of any description, they're coming for you without mercy
