Ah, I can help with this one. Stick your finger out, bend over and shove it up your arse whilst singing the national anthem. Go out and deliver and pretend everything is normal and fine.
There could be a hurricane and this lot would expect you out on delivery.

Last time we had predicted 40mph+ winds, within an hour of arriving to work we were told we could go home because it was too dangerous.
If they did it then - then they should surely do it again if the forecast is correct for our area. If on Thursday morning it's blowing a gale, I expect them to let us go home. I don't want a tree falling on me.

It should be at least no letters. We just put mulch through peoples doors that last one.

They're probably not allowed to make that decision, probably has to be cleared by someone higher up the food chainguardianangel wrote: ↑01 Nov 2023, 05:31Last severe weather warning they sent some of us out who were tied up ,i was out on my delivery for 1 and a half hours battling through the wind nearly being hit by falling branches when i got a phone call to go back to office as it was dangerous (no s**t) on return found out everyone else was sent home you couldn't make it up every manager in the morning was struggling to make any decision, lucky i wasn't injured id be suing their ass off, hopefully they will send us out tommorrow![]()

Heavy rain and potentially dangerous winds for all of the southern parts of England, you shouldn’t be delivering in that.

Make sure it's their decision to let you go home then you won't owe them anything. I would just stay in the office and do any work that might be around. If they give you the option to go home and you take it then you will owe them the time back.

Presumably there will be high level national and regional meetings going on right now regarding the impact of tomorrow's weather storm.

Last time we had a red weather alert - danger to life.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.
