Is there a shortage of either yorks or sleeves (or both)? Amazon have already started using pallets, something that I wouldn't have expected to see until partway through Xmas Pressure

There's definitely a shortage of yorks that haven't been infested by those 'orrible correx things. I take great pleasure in marking those out of service wherever there's an excuse to do so, or even better removing the correx entirely if it's detached from its screws.

(And yes, we also saw our first pallets of the season come in last night. One-off? We'll see.)

The new SuperHubs require 1000s of Yorks to keep them operational and they have not kept up with the pace of replacing old ones.
Higher up have put in “lead” Managers to try & control this lack of Yorks but rumour has it they no longer have enough for the supply chain!
It’s Xmas, still learning!

Look on Facebook Marketplace and E-bay to see how many toe rags are trying to sell RM yorks/trays/mail sacks.....it really is astounding. you would have thought that IB would have been all over this like a rash.....

Preparing for Peak - utilising our yorks

As we head towards Peak, it’s more important than ever that we have the maximum amount of yorks available to support the predicted traffic growth in the coming months.

It’s a critical issue for our operation and for delivering the Quality of Service our customers expect to receive. Yorks are a vital part of our pipeline and without yorks, we won’t be able to deliver a successful Peak.

What exactly are they being used for that's not operational at my MC some are being used to store mail bags on so what is Royal Mail's plan with these if not having them on Yorkies. As always it's staffs fault never anything to do with incompetence of management and there is literally no one counting how many we have and how many go out and to whom

Royal Mail wouldn’t sell them for scrap, they’d pay someone a huge amount of money to take them away so that they could sell them for scrap !
