Unfair hours within the office?

I'm fairly new to RM and am in a small office of about 24 walks. I don't have my own round so move around the office a lot. Being a small office, everyone preps their own walks before bundling and heading out. Looking at some of the other posts on here, it looks like we're lucky as everyone tends to clear their round daily, however I'm a lot slower than everyone else (mostly because I'm not used to the rack for prepping and the routes, I move pretty fast and never stop for a break).

There are people in the office that can be back hours before me. Some get back before I've even left. Although we clock in and out, everyone gets paid their full day even if they're back home by 9:30. We only have one manager at the office who starts early and finishes early so doesn't see most people come back. There's never any hint of anyone being sent back out to support others, they're just finished while the slower newbies on the long walk are out, some doing unpaid overtime.

Is this normal? I feel I can't bring it up because I can imagine how I'd be treated by colleagues if I ruined their good deal. Any advice from others out there?

I know with certainty that there are offices still making plenty of time - not on this scale but enough that it would shock posties on here who can barely get to a point where they deliver any mail. Based on my own experiences, I could well believe that in smaller DOs, or even the old SPDOs, ridiculous o’clock might still be on the table. I’m actually amazed at how many people are dismissing this out of hand because I don’t just consider it to be possible, but also highly probable.

It may be that RM are just giving these guys as much rope as possible to hang themselves before January, when the revisions will all start again worse than ever before, but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t happening.

any offices ''making time'' will be dealt a hard blow. the ones in ours that were making the slightest bit of time, have been given more graft and told that any scanning out BEFORE the duty finish time will incur docking of wages. another 3 have left on top of the 10 that took VR. its all downhill from here on in.

Some are back before you left? Are they doing a mini DPR or something? More details required. I cannot imagine a regular duty (letters and packets) is done and home by 09:30 am. And if you're still in the office prepping at 09:30 what time do you start?

Could be delivering the SD 's. If it's a small office they may only get half a sleeve or a couple of bags.

bollox its legit. the scanning out at 9.30 would raise an interest from HQ for a start.
