Maybe not so much anymore with starts getting later and later, but that drive/walk/cycle to work in the very early hours of a spring morning when it's just you and the foxes and other wildlife you rarely see once the masses get up.

There was a time when you could start your round/walk in similar conditions but alas the clock is forever being pushed back.

Those autumn days when it’s slightly cold but not cold enough for the storm proof coat yet. The quiet Monday/Tuesdays when you breath a sigh of relief knowing there will be no awkward hand back conversation with a manager as you will only run 30 mins over to as appose to two hours the remainder of the week. The feeling of leaving the office the day before your rest day.
Everything else is shite.

2.18pm on a Tuesday when I go home knowing I’m not back in while 7.12am on a Friday.

Some customers. There are some decent ones who seem genuinely interested in how you are and what you’ve been up to. Usually the old boys. There’s only a couple on each round and I only stop for a minute.

Rural rounds, just nice driving out in the country, working on your own, seeing wildlife etc.

Out on delivery when you are working solo and can do the round any way you want.

Being weekly paid. Much prefer it to monthly paid.

About 75% of my colleagues are decent hardworking people. Likewise one of the COMs here deep down is actually a decent person and helped me a lot when my father passed away.

One more: I like it now and again when you’re expecting a manic day with miles of walking then get put on a packet round. I wouldn’t want it every day because getting in and out of the van does my head in but it’s a nice change, especially when it’s chucking down.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.
