Post by Postie.11 »

Imminent according to our manager, he got told by the area manager .Our rep agreed, said he’s heard the same. Has anyone else been told something similar this week? Thanks

I think that’s a load of rubbish. It will never be Mon to Fri . When has anything benefitted the workforce? It will only get worse my friend. Never believe what rumours you hear.

Our manager has been on about it for ages but then he thinks he is more important than the law makers down in Westminster.

Forgone conclusion in my eyes. When Ofcom published this report it has only been a matter of time.

https://www.ofcom.org.uk/__data/assets/ ... report.pdf

The review found that Royal Mail would be able to cut Saturday letter deliveries and still meet the needs of 97% of consumers and small businesses, suggesting that reducing letter deliveries to five days a week would still reflect postal users’ reasonable needs.

Pretty sure it’s nailed on within the next couple of years. Most likely after the next general election. Not sure how it could be imminent though as both ofcom and the government have to green light it. There was rumours about a month back that a temporary suspension on the USO was coming but it’s all went silent since. Who knows, it all seems to be whispers and rumours at this point.

Complete opposite in my office, manager said the other day there is a big focus on Saturday letters delivery and it has become a priority for the business to improve the quality.

It undoubtedly will happen at some point but I'd suprised if it happened before the next election

I'm not sure RM are able to improve quality of letter delivery given the current attitude towards having stupidly big deliveries?

A Monday to Friday letter delivery service would be a huge upgrade on the crappy service that RM are providing to the residents of the town that I work in.
