Re: Today it starts
Judging off all the text messages I still get off my ex colleagues/union members
(I've left and No I'm not coming back!) there has been no change in the management attitude into getting rid of people, if anything it's increased with another 6 gone recently.
Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.

Re: Today it starts
Those posties who think that they are being looked after by their managers who work their days off and come in early on pay and complete their duties everyday are not thought of any better in the future because senior managers are just looking at the PDA actuals.
That is what led to a revision and many of duties going and yet some posties are still trying to beat the system
Most of us who are trying to do the job properly are now toast before we've even started. At least with the lapsing you would only take it if you had the time to do it. Now its just stuck on our frames.

Plenty other jobs out there, just look, although if you're a 'manager' you may struggle finding a job earning 45K a year working 20hrs a week sitting on your arse not giving a flying f**k about your staff.
Wakey wakey!

Revisions are not based on PDA actuals, they're based on WIPWH and forecasted traffic decline.
PDA actuals are a measure of outdoor activity only so I'm not sure how it could be used against you if you're doing the job properly. It can surely only help your argument if your duty is genuinely too large.

I think he's having a dig at the "In crowd" Woody. Every office has them.

Hopefully that will be the case Woody. I don't know about WIPS or whatever it's called but there has certainly been a lack of engagement regarding the revisions. We should certainly not be threatened if we don't complete in the time or with delaying the mail when it's been them that have made the duties unachievable.
If they truly want to balance the workloads and make everything fair then at the very least they should make everybody work the hours that they are paid for and stop ghost overtime. There are too many managers heavily reliant on a few staff to help them out with favours promised in return.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Now they are under pressure as to why they can't complete.
Those in this situation in ours have no family to look after.

Like a lot of what is posted on here that's your experience but not necessarily what is happening across the business. No woodie they are doing it because they have done it before.
Now they are under pressure as to why they can't complete
I get it, most people who post on here do so out of a sense of frustration because their experience at work is not good, unfortunately it leads to a skewed perception of the entire business because let's be honest who is going to be arsed posting anything positive just to be bombarded by abuse?
The fact is in my experience most of my members work their days off and work overtime in general because they need or want the money not because they are under pressure to do so or are trying to impress management.
I understand from your previous posts that your office is a s**t hole and I feel for you but that doesn't mean everywhere is the same. Our office isn't perfect, we have the same issues everyone has at the moment with recruitment but we have good union representation and a decent working relationship with management.
