Job and knock
We got told today by union rep that job and knock is not part of this new flexibilty agreement so we will not be losing it. Then we hear under this flexibilty agreement we have to work our hours which could involve doing some extra from a delivery if the mail is light. Surely if your coming back early and having to do some more work this is the end of job and knock...

Re: Job and knock
I'm sure we were more productive & keen to get the delivery done when it was job & knock? What do you think?

Re: Job and knock
That's because everyone rushed and cut every corner going. Royal Mail now take not doing the job exactly as prescribed very seriously, thus productivity down and failures are through the roof. Our deliveries haven't even been 4.5hours max in a very long time.

It might have been in 2008 when that post was made.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: Job and knock
Obviously some of the posters are trying to wind people up everybody knows the days of job and knock are finished the revision in our hub office goes live next monday there isn't a paired duty within our office excluding rural duties with less than 2000 del points in the team brief we were told he knows there zero chance of anybody being able to complete on a daily basis hopefully after christmas workload should ease off as the large parcels will not be sent up to our office until later meaning we should departing our office earlier they have also offered the 10 twenty eight contracts we have currently in our office the chance to be made up too 33hours four of them have refused in the last two months i have been at royal mail for 27 years and i still enjoy the job we can all see the direction on the company driving down the terms and conditions are near as possible to gig economy level the CWU will do its best to slow the process down as with anything in life its about personal choice stay on board or jump ship before we sink one thing i know for sure the companies plans on how a hub office should operate is one way to bankrupt the company you would not believe the money they throw down the pan on a weekly basis.

Re: Job and knock
Job & knock lasted at our office until 2010. So there was still a couple of good years left when the OP asked this question
“Shorts,in this weather?!”
“If they’re bills I don’t want ‘em!”
“What’s she been ordering now?”

Re: Job and knock
Any idea of job and knock died when a national clocking in system was installed.
Those two concepts are incompatible.

Re: Job and knock
It depends who you are.
Some scan out and go home when they finish.
Whilst others are asked to wait nearly an hour before they are allowed to scan out and go home.
So like I say, it depends who you are.
