Ofcom team step in with Royal Mail over 'unacceptable' delays in Nuneaton

It comes as complaints continue to be made about mail deliveries being missed for weeks

Ofcom is set to step in and raise concerns directly with Royal Mail over 'unacceptable' delays in Nuneaton. CoventryLive has highlighted concerns over mail deliveries across the town several times this year, most recently with householders in Galley Common blasting the service as a 'joke'.

They said they had been left without mail for weeks and, as a result, some have missed important hospital appointments and bills. Royal Mail did issue an apology and said that staffing issues were behind the recent problems.

But the town's MP, Marcus Jones, decided to contact Ofcom again about the issues - something he did earlier in the year. He said that following his latest letter to Dame Melanie Dawes, Chief Executive of Ofcom, he was told that given the extent of the delays in Nuneaton she has asked Ofcom’s pot monitoring team to raise concerns with Royal Mail directly.

“I am pleased that following my request Ofcom are treating their regulatory responsibilities seriously," he said. "The current service by Royal Mail in Nuneaton is unacceptable."

Royal Mail did issue an apology and said that staffing issues were behind the recent problems.
Well whose fault is that when staff are leaving and not being replaced?!?!

We’ve got another 3 leaving ours next week with no plans to replace them

Who said anything about Labour i was stating facts about a messed up Tory Britain ,its up to the electorate to decide who gets in,personally we have had 40 years of the dumb ass electorate voting for the same two which are basically the same party hammering the working class,i doubt anything but a revolution will change this country now.

It was the Lib Dem's who led the way in RM being privatised.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

They need to pick some random offices and then arrive at them unannounced
