Has anybody in the history of RM ever admitted that their new job isn't that good and they made a mistake in leaving?

I know of two and both went back within 3-6 months. Don't know why as both would moan and groan at the drop of a hat about the job.

Has anybody in the history of RM ever admitted that their new job isn't that good and they made a mistake in leaving?

I left almost a year ago now. And while I believe I made the right choice in my new job - I do miss working at Royal Mail! Well, parts of it anyway. It’s incredible to essentially have a job where you can please yourself every day. Headphones in, fresh air, exercise, 99% of people are nice to you. No traffic on the roads on the commute. Of course there were stressful days and there was nothing worse than coming in to find days worth of Mail in your frame - but ultimately there’s quite a few perks at RM that a lot of people don’t give it credit for. The money was pretty decent too. If the contract didn’t change (Sunday working, less money) I’d go back if I had to. I have some genuine fond memories of my time there.

I now work at retired, 2o years delivery logistics, 48 chilling everyday, don't miss it at all. Bit of fishing too.. I'm very glad I'm out

Sorry for late reply. I can't say what it is unfortunately as I want to remain anon. People in my part of the world might work out my gobby (but honest ) posts are me! My new job is in a challenging fast paced environment but I do have time to decompress in the working week. I'm not cream cracker'd every night. Skills I still use are thinking on your feet , self reliance and pride in doing a good job. I still serve the public. That gives me lots of job satisfaction. I'm treated with respect by management and given dignity at work by higher ups and co workers. I get lots of training. It's not perfect. I'm still on the frontline, so still trying to make an imperfect system function somehow. However we regularly meet as a team. My boss seems to give a s**t about me. It is organised to try and function from top to bottom. Hope those thinking of leaving go for it. Life is too short to wonder etc.

Yeah. I left to do HGV. Job was f***ing crap and was considering quitting after month 1.

Then i got made redundant as the company went into admin.

Should have stayed. As s**t as RM is my run of luck has been worse.
