Glad I'm out
30+ years done & left a couple of months ago. Can’t tell you enough how happy I am to be out of the shithole called Royal Mail. One of the things I’m looking forward to most of all is having no more Xmas’s to do, especially this one as I believe it will be a nightmare. Good luck .

Re: Glad I’m out
Won’t be bad for me as I will be on parcel duties for 4 weeks in the run up to Christmas. So no prepping mail, just get the parcels and go.

Do you just get to choose your own hours on oversized parcels during the pressure?
Also do you have your own walk and jump off it or are you a floater/reserve?

Got my own duty, they have to find a driver for it during the four weeks.Yes I can choose what time I finish,mwalker88 wrote: ↑17 Sep 2023, 14:50Do you just get to choose your own hours on oversized parcels during the pressure?

I do 6.30 until 3.30 Mon to Fri, 6.30 until 1.30 on a Saturday. I enjoy it and so much easier than walking and also prepping which takes ages during Christmas pressure.

You just abandon your duty for some other sucker to deal with during the busiest time of the year? Then jump back on it after December?
Congratulations

Re: Glad I’m out
Has anybody in the history of RM ever admitted that their new job isn't that good and they made a mistake in leaving?

Re: Glad I’m out
I left this year. No regrets. It really is a s**t job. I've never worked so hard and been treated like a lazy twat in all my born days. Thought I didn't mind working Saturday until I had every weekend off. I get paid more too.

Re: Glad I’m out
Yes, me. I’ve admitted on here a few times after I left RM my next job was awful although it did get me in a financial position to work part time for the rest of my life. I’ve been back at RM a few years.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.
