On Friday I got a text from my bank saying I've been charged for going over my overdraft limit. So when I looked in my bank I'd seen I hadn't been paid this week. I logged into the people app and saw my payslip was 0.00. Although when I opened it, it actually said £-213!
What they've done is charged me £790 or 55 hours overused holidays. Although I can't work out how they've worked it out, I'm not disputing that I would need to pay back holidays (I've used 4 weeks in half a year) i purchase 2 weeks also...
But I've been left to borrow off family to get me through the next few weeks and incur overdraft charges. I am leaving at the end of the month so I've still got 3 more payslips to go. I would have been prepared to come to some sort of agreement or spread it over the last few weeks. I think its completely out of
order to not inform me they were going to do this. I couldn't get through to HR on Friday and I'm not sure they would be very sympathetic.
So just want to know are they allowed to do this? I feel like a mug for even giving them notice should have just walked out on my last day! I'm not expecting them to pay my overdraft charges.
