Can walks still be tested
If they can, why isn't this happening.
Does a manager not have to lead by example and show us how these new walks will work.

Re: Can walks still be tested
Probably in the odd London office where they have a strong union rep backed up by Ward just round the corner, for the rest of us it seems not. Tried numerous times to get my walk tested and complety ignored.
Im routinely 1 hour over my time and I’m by no means slow.
These deliveries cannot be completed by a human being in the bullshit time managers say and they damn well know that, that’s why they will never be tested.
If you want to see the traffic figures and a bullshit work items per work hour checklist that proves you’re a workshy s**t lazy arsehole postie then that can be provided by your COM immediately.

Re: Can walks still be tested
I think, in reality, they know that there's no chance of them ever working, even on a quiet day. They are just far too big now. If you try to take everything, prep takes too long, tying up takes too long, meaning that you're late out. Then mid afternoon the traffic gets heavy, so you can't get where you need to be quickly, then it's manic getting back to the office. So you either need to take the OT, or compound the issue every day

Re: Can walks still be tested
They should just get the planners back in, to do the walk span they planned, for a week or two, to make sure it's achievable.Rael, the IAK wrote: ↑15 Sep 2023, 14:18I think, in reality, they know that there's no chance of them ever working, even on a quiet day. Re: Can walks still be tested
Are they not deliberately unachievable by design now?
Not sure if we're having another revision or if it's just Spring's disaster being tidied up but we have a planner in at the moment. Manager is apparently insisting that all walks must go over duty times.
With no other evidence available to me, this would suggest RM would prefer us to cut off and have USO failure to some degree (or let us do the OT if we so wish)
than risk anyone occasionally having a few minutes spare at the end of their day

Royal Mail have no intention of fixing this until they get what they want from ofcom/ government regarding changes to the USO.crazyshrew wrote: ↑15 Sep 2023, 14:58Are they not deliberately unachievable by design now?

Re: Can walks still be tested
They will tell you they are tested every day with PDA ACTUALS.
However they assume that you are clearing both duties at the end of day. They do not record the entire frame of mail left undelivered.

Re: Can walks still be tested
Surely that makes no sense. If most walks are failing then how can Ofcom/government say that it's ok for us to go down to a 5 day letter service. If anything we now need to go to a 7 day service as we cannot deliver the massive workload.chickenwittle wrote: ↑15 Sep 2023, 15:18Royal Mail have no intention of fixing this until they get what they want from ofcom/ government regarding changes to the USO.crazyshrew wrote: ↑15 Sep 2023, 14:58Are they not deliberately unachievable by design now?

Re: Can walks still be tested
I have absolutely no idea anymore, we're being told different things every week, sometimes twice weekly
These walks are being removed...now it's those walks...now it's just this walk going but the hours are being reallocate....if you want to keep working for RM you'll have to become a reserve, transfer to the parcel hub, work a completely new shift pattern etc...
How much is truth (so far as they kinda know what they want to achieve but have no idea how to go about it or properly communicate it!)
and how much is just cruel machiavellian mind games; the type of attack on the workforce that was supposed to have been stopped
I have no idea.

Does anything coming from the office based "management" folk make any sense any more?norris9 wrote: ↑16 Sep 2023, 07:19Surely that makes no sense. Their so focused on the numbers in their spreadsheet they appear to be completely oblivious to what those numbers mean beyond "profit" and "loss"
Crikey they have even lost sight of the fact that promptly doing a repair on a van will in many cases save a much more expensive repair/ delay a write off further down the line

'Promptly doing a repair on a van' would mean more failures in house/within the DO/real justified delivery time!crazyshrew wrote: ↑16 Sep 2023, 12:22Does anything coming from the office based "management" folk make any sense any more?norris9 wrote: ↑16 Sep 2023, 07:19Surely that makes no sense. Management would much rather your van fails on the street and you both walk miles/work hours over just complete your duty that day instead.
Welcome to Delivery

Only 1 hour over?! Id honestly be a minimum 3 hours over to complete the 3 walks i cover.
