New start times, what the????

Our office has gone to the new start times from today i.e. an extra 24min/day for 35hrs and above, extra 10min/day below 35hrs. In order to work this out they have said everyone has to have same finish time irrespective of hours and worked back from that to determine start times and we are doing longs and shorts.
I am on 34hrs and now I have a different start time for every single day of the week. How the hell am I supposed to organise my life around that? I'm going to have to keep a note on my wall at home to remind me what time I have to go in each day.

Why? I find it hard to believe someone can seem so upset about starting work at slightly different times during the week, wasnt sure if they trying to be funny?

With collection on delivery my guess is the screw wants to make sure that everyone is back in time for any collections on delivery to make the last collections run to the MC

What have I missed? Longs and shorts? Didnt they disappear 20 years ago? Due to 2 in a van with a few single duties as exceptions we all on delivery finish at the same time? Apologies if I've misunderstood?

I was actually serious but maybe that's just my problem. I am very much a routine person, get up/go to work at the same time each day. Knowing how long I have between getting up and going to work, I have a routine that works for me and find it unsettling to find myself having spare time at that end of the day. But not enough spare to do anything useful. There are no van shares in our office and all duties are back well before last run to the mail centre. Only reason for the same finish times seems to be to make it easier for them to calculate the start times. Longs and shorts were only introduced in our office last year and only affected finish times until now.

Well then I apologise, all offices clearly arnt the same. How do longs and shorts work where you are?

Do those start times only vary by a few minutes each day so probably mean getting up at pretty much as usual each day anyway?
