RMCtv : Launching Team talk: take 5 in Delivery today
Launching Team talk: take 5 in Delivery today
We’re in a new era and the relationships we build with our teams are critical to our future success.
We need everyone to focus on rebuilding relationships and trust with their teams, whilst we deliver great quality, a great service and great productivity. The way to do that is through improving our employee communication and engagement.
What is Team talk: take 5?
Team talk: take 5 is a five minute conversation or stand-up between COMs and their teams. Every employee, on every shift, every day.
It replaces daily huddles, a modern, rebranded session, with a new focus. It’s a chance to connect and have a conversation with our people about the things that matter to our teams, to our managers and to Royal Mail.
Team talk: take 5 is designed to be a two-way conversation that covers:
Safety – not a brief but a conversation about safety in the office
Local news
Quality and productivity – how we did yesterday and what we need to focus on today
Supporting our teams - saying thank you and offering support.
There are no forms to fill, (COM's) but we expect this to become part of the daily routine in our Delivery Offices and we will check in with COMs on how it is going and get feedback as we go along.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

So in the subs do we just talk to the wall? We'd get more sense out of it.

The 3 sub-offices I've worked in over the last year had between 6 and 11 frames in and not enough staff to cover them. If they do away with frames, they will then have the room to move them into the nearest DO. I think it is inevitable.pieoftheday wrote: ↑11 Sep 2023, 13:53You probably wouldare there many still working from sub offices? All our sub office posties were brought into the main DO some years ago now

I only worked in my local sub office very briefly but I much preferred it to the large DOFoxel wrote: ↑11 Sep 2023, 14:07The 3 sub-offices I've worked in over the last year had between 6 and 11 frames in and not enough staff to cover them. Same thing as the huddle, its just 5 mins of the dim dom moaning and telling us how crap we are and slow, love to see him come out and do what i done last week in all that heat,he did say thanks once after he moaned and dripped all week how we were not performing well then on the Saturday said thanks as its been a tough week, well sorry that dont cut it with me . Most posties now dont give a f--k and i cant see how this company can ever move forward now ,they have lost the dressing room and we have gone from premiership leaders 10 years ago to bottom of the conference.

Re: RMCtv : Launching Team talk: take 5 in Delivery today
Great idea
Manager: Colleague, we failed 60% of deliveries.
Me: Please, call me HTP.
Manager: We also have 15 long term absences amongst colleagues.
Me: That’s a shame.
Manager: And next week we are understaffed due to annual leave.
Me: Oh dear oh dear.
Manager: Local news now. Greggs have a new store opening Friday. And Brighton won.
Me: Great. Can I crack on...
Manager: It’s warm so walk in the shade.
Me: Yep I know, and take breaks but don’t stay stationary for more than 2mins, and make sure the tracked are clear. Right boss this has been emotional but I need to get on.
Manager: Thank you colleague. And remember support is available.
Me: Oh that’s good. Because my van partner has called in sick so I’ll need some support.
Manager: No, not that.

The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

If this started today then presumably our manager missed the memo, we haven't had a wtll, huddle, whatever, anything for ages, mind you he was a bit busy prepping walks to do it anyway.

We have had this for a few weeks now, this morning was the same as usual the com dictates what has happened and reminds everyone to prioritise their tracked. Hardly call that a team talk
