Door to Door Payment

Is it true new recruits don't get door to door payments?

They do in the sorting office I work in.

I'm talking about the leaflets that we post, usually pizza ones ,that customers invariably chuck in the bin.

It's a delivery supplement. The d2d payments ceased many years ago.

Got ya. I guess the old staff still call it D2D.

My point is, staff get paid extra for delivering leaflets. I'm wondering if this has stopped for new staff?

The older staff will say "it's not for d2ds" etc etc. There are many different supplements and extras people get depending on when they joined the business. If it wasn't in your contract, then you don't get it. The Ts&C's the new entrants are on are significantly inferior to the contracts older staff enjoy.

They're quite coy about what I'm entitled too, so I thought I'd ask around.

As a 2023 new starter (as in signed on the dotted line and officially "one of us") you would be very poorly advised to ask any longer serving staff what you may be entitled to, whether that be basic pay, supplementary pay, Overtime pay, rest breaks etc.
Quite frankly most of us wont have much of a clue as you are unfortunately on a different contract with some different terms and conditions, including remuneration.

Theoretically your contract should tell you all you need to know.

And Royal Mail when they take the money and can't be bothered to deliver them,its theft and someone should be charged .

Don't forget all of this was down to another great wage deal sellout by the union.
