Pay when leaving the company

I left the company last week and didn’t get any basic pay this week, just allowances. Is this normal for basic wages to be delayed? Also I’m owed carried over holiday pay which I didn’t receive either.

We are one of the very few jobs that don't work a week in hand, when you started you will of gotten paid the first week and thus only O/T follows the week after so are always up to date on contracted hours. Regarding holiday pay plenty seem to have this issue and get tossed between HR/Line managers.

I didn’t even get the weeks basic pay though. Just £34 allowances

If you left last week then you will not have earned any basic pay this week. Basic pay is not a week behind, unlike any O/T.

As Rumple says, because you left the company last week. You weren't working this week so you don't get paid for it.

Although why you got any allowances is an odd one!

So if I were to leave next week then I wouldn't get paid next Friday for that work? That doesn't make any sense.

If you leave next Monday your last wage will be next Friday. No OPGs work lying time at Royal Mail.

Hilariously though, if you don't use all the holiday hours you carried over, all that time/money will just magically disappear shortly.

We don't work a week in hand at Royal Mail, I think that is what causes the confusion.

So if I left Royal Mail today I would get 3 days pay on Friday. If I left on Friday with No overtime, again my last pay date would be Friday.
