AVC in Deductions column this week!

Post by StokieD »

I’m on 30 hrs. My AVC payment is showing in the deductions column this week, meaning I’ve had to pay Nat Insurance on my full amount of pay. Is this because of this ridiculous seasonal hours change? Has this happened to anyone else? Surely if we’re being paid the same all year round, it shouldn’t affect my AVC now falling out of PSE?? Any help appreciated, thanks.

Wouldn't have thought SV should affect your AVC's in this way, after all as you say your base pay should be exactly the same - is it?

Did you try to increase your regular AVC contributions recently? Have there been any other new deductions pre-tax (on the left hand side)
such as something from My Bundle which would lower your pre-tax pay?

My AVC's are exactly as they should be on this weeks pay.

Ok, apparently it is down to seasonal hours.

I have reduced my avc by 1 percent and it is now ok on my payslip.

Following today's news regarding the minimum wage increase next year, people need to be careful what they pay in to AVCs. By my calculation, they need to reduce their weekly contributions by a staggering £1.02p for every contracted hour. Unless someone can clarify. :hmmmm
