Oxford postman took diesel van to London at mid night ( with out permission), driving through Zero Emission Zone, picked up by traffic camera. Oxford DO sacked postie with 30 years service. Appeal was launched against the decision but now appeal has been rejected.

I presume he has taken it home to park overnight as other offices have been doing, got tempted and used it on an unauthorised journey.

This is why I refused to take a van home to park overnight, my responsibility ends when I sign off and out of the gate.

Not double post . this post shows the result of APPEAL . This postie was given the chance of resigning at the end of two and half months " investigation " As this was sacking , postie would loose lots of "pension " benefits. Next step is Reading Tribunal Hearing, even on winning the case , Royal Mail has no obligations to give this postie job back.
