Yes, there was alot of cloak ‘n dagger with “flow through’s” at my MC’s realignment too, People who had their uniform 5 mins getting flowed through over people with 30-40yrs service purely because they were on a non standard mon-fri shift pattern & were forced into the repick pool.
Were who got what ever listed anywhere at your MC because they haven't been at mine so its purely word of mouth to know who got what

This appears to be happening at all the mc’s , stressing people out…
A significant number of these people have had multiple chances to pick new duties and refused, so how is this "stressing people out" ?

I think it is good that an external company are being brought in to run the redeployment teams in MC's, this way there will be no favortism etc.
RM are not sticking to agreements. Wow. How shocking. :cuppa

Yes, its all been posted on lists on the notice boards, multiple times after each almost weekly repick interviews,
some of us take copies for future reference, in order to prove it in case of any future skullduggery

Lucky you it's all Whispers in the Dark at my office one chat no idea who got what duty so no way of asking how people got what duty. All done in March nothing since but then we have at least 10 casuals in every night and on Tuesdays and Wednesday 20 or more so not sure how we can have no duties vacant

Here’s an odd one……

My MC let a lot of OPGs go on VR, and there’s supposed to be a large number still here as supernumeraries.

So why is there a notice (attached) asking for even more staff to work for Angard 14:00 to 22:00?

The advert does not appear in Angard’s own website.

Why do we still have casuals on every shift when we have people who are supernumerary?

It’s a good question and i asked it,
i got told it is because casuals are not regular staff or guaranteed to be onsite 37 hrs week like staff, and that they can be (& often are) sent home part way through a shift if the work is not there.

It seems this is legit up until there is actually any compulsory redundancies, then the legal element will come into play.

The supernumerary redeployment situation seems to be a grey area as the plan is to relocate them to different areas of the business so they will still have a job.

Dear all,

You must now understand the seriousness of the supernumerary/surplus of staff in mail centres after recent communications. There is a redeployment team currently visiting mail centres to try and address surplus staff. It is firmly believed that Royal Mail may try and break the ‘Business Recovery, Transformation & Growth 2023 agreement and re look at current members duties which colleagues have only recently been allocated in order to make more cuts/re-deployment - effectively making new duty holders supernumeraries with the intention of moving/forcing them into delivery offices who are very short staffed due to royal mails own mismanagement.

It is essential that you report to your senior CWU representative/or Branch so they record and report the following:

(i) any managers who are regularly working on any shift;

(ii) any casuals who are in when staff have applied for overtime;

(iii) any breaches of health and safety to skip corners and make it seem like the work is getting done within normal business hours;

(iv) any casuals or managers working on machinery they are not trained for;

(v) Any agency staff being giving training opportunities without staff being offered these opportunities as well;

(vi) Any 1st Class mail/letter not being deployed on time i.e. not meeting USO requirements

Lastly, it has been noted throughout Royal Mail that local managers have recently given duties to individuals without it being advertised within local offices therefore not allowing a fair process to take place this must be reported as local management have no right to act unilaterally…so it can be reported when meeting with senior Royal Mail management to demonstrate/evidence what is occurring on ground level.

Please ensure you forward to this message on to all your colleagues so everyone is aware!
