30 years or three weeks, he was always going to be down the road for that little indiscretion.

I admit it’s not conclusive “evidence” but I work at the supplying MC for OX and it’s all around the MC about this story as it came from OXDO directly! I would be amazed if it wasn’t accurate.

I'm always astounded the way some senior colleagues seem to think they have bulletproof job security, especially now when the company won't hesitate to alleviate themselves of another FT contract.

This reminds me of the (possibly apocryphal) story of the van that got ticketed in Northern France on a bank holiday weekend. I'm sure I read that on here a long time ago.

There is a low emission zone in Oxford. You’d like to think no one is silly enough to travel Oxford to London in a work vehicle. Doesn’t Oxford also have an electric fleet?

Chinese whispers perhaps?

How did the van go past customs without question?

I tried searching the forum but couldn't dig it up, if I did read it here and if it did happen at all :hmmmm

I am sure that there must be some story here to hear. There must have been a reason why he did what he did.

We had one guy sacked for using a van to help his brother move house over a hundred miles away.

Another sacked for working in Tesco while off sick, the same Tesco the managers go to for lunch.

Another sacked for working for Hermes while off sick on the same route as his duty.

Another for dumping D2D in a skip in the same industrial estate as the DO where our own cameras could see him doing it.

I'm never really surprised by the level of dumb shown by some people. This is just another example.

If it ever happened, which is highly unlikely.
We would all have heard about it via the media, had it been true.

If the local press get hold of it, it may end up in the media, as has happened with the pub story in Liverpool. But this hasn't got the same appeal!
