I have a question on this.

If you already have leave booked this coming winter within the 3 month 39hr period, does this mean that you now have to use 39hrs for a full timers week leave instead of the usual 37hrs ?

If this is the case then almost every single person will be in debt to Royal Mail with regards anual leave come April.
If that's the case then presumably it'll get cancelled out by next year's summer leave weeks only requiring 35 hours, surely they should have started it in April rather than screwing us for this forthcoming winter.
It won't get cancelled out though will it. Yes you are right in that it should start from April to coincide with the start of annual leave, but it doesn't. Asked this question before and looked through the agreement, but its looking like a case of fingers in ears hoping nobody will notice.

Think about it. you are a full timer and have a week booked in the busy 3 months coming up and don't have any spare hours to play with. So its looking like you will owe 2hrs come April. Two weeks booked and you will owe 4hrs. That will never equal out next year, because the holidays run from April to April.

Would be helpful if Martin could clarify this and then at least we know were we stand before the kick in the balls.
Martin has already 'clarified' this in a post on this thread (post 04 Jun 23 @ 0535): viewtopic.php?f=87&t=110208&hilit=variations&start=60 - it won't balance out in synch with the leave/tax year!

3. On seasonal variations, Royal Mail wanted no finishing times linked to Siso. Royal Mail have 3 senior directors who come from Land Rover jaguar and wanted annualised hours and productivity normally drops in the summer as traffic dips and yet we have the same number of walks. This has resulted in high levels of absorption.
Seasonal variations is aimed at reducing absorption and the period will run from September 203 to September 2024. All hours will balance over this period. Hours have never balanced over a tax year in fact prior to the way forward we had 2 separate annual leave periods summer and winter.

4. The 30 minute flex option is subject to review but it will not mean anyone will have to flex every day , the current agreement which is not used now is voluntary and with seasonal variations we don’t see that changing.

That just looks like spin to me. Holiday allowances start and finish in April, not September.

Totally agree with you RTP, I don't know how CWU could agree the process of balancing hours being implemented
halfway through a leave/tax year just because years ago there were two leave periods years ago or that the two things are not linked.

I think CWU were blindsided by RM over this, didn't envisage the consequences with leave and (I think a poster has
suggested on another post/thread) break lengths and it's too late for them to address it now now the agreement is done and dusted.

RTP - update to this, in LTB 191/23 (given it's own thread by Postman here: viewtopic.php?p=1067085#p1067085)
There will be no change to your planned annual leave during this year 2023/2024, if there is any
deficit in your annual leave balance caused by Seasonal Variation, then this will be waived, so you do
not lose out.

The only thing about this agreement that's clear is the fact that nobody knows truly what's happening.

With regards to 30 minute flex, I bet my manager sees it being voluntary, changing
