Just because the deal was recommended by the cwu doesnt mean it was the right call they have feathered there own nest when royal mail come gunning for us what fight can the union put up the answer is nothing we have lost the battle hold on tight posties we are in for a bumpy ride its going downhill from here and the yes vote hasnt helped
Absolutely right Claystone . While many hardcore members leave the company or union - it will be left to the Lou's & Aiden's of this company to pick up the WHITE flag that Dave Fraud drops , when fleeing the country with his huge sacks of members cash. These gutless members will continue to say " other companies have it worse " . Before you know it , we are one of those other companies.
I have NO regrets leaving this incompetent union.
I now look under my pillow every night , hoping that the tooth fairies leave the £3500 that I have sadly paid them over the years.
Must be thousands upon thousands named lou or aiden then thank god not too many called steve. :Very Happy

I was never in the union to be kicked out of.
I listened to what they said and didn’t think it had any substance. I didn’t fall for the empty slogans either.

As for the constant references to ‘war’ and such, I found all that embarrassing. It was more like a Pride Festival event. Lots of flag waving. Not much else.

You can see now in the workplace and on this forum that the unions members are divided. From VOTE YES SUPPORT THE UNION to VOTE NO DEMAND CHANGE.

Win the ballot win the dispute. Solidarity. All a load of waffle because when push came to shove everyone is in it for themselves. Even the CWU.

😂 I worked mine out I've paid over 4 grand what a mug..
I guess you're not very senior then? I've worked it out at just under 7 grand, and it's been worth every penny.
Don't know exactly what seniority has to do with the union as not everyone joins straight away or ever there's at least a third of my office aren't members but I've been with royal mail since February 1995 but in the scheme of things that's not a long time you are correct.

The union and seniority goes hand in hand or jobs for the boys the old school the rear guard etc only now it's thankfully finally coming to an end because no company can and should be run this way the longer you've been here the better you get treated iknow alot on here will disagree but at last royal mail is joining the real working world

Seniority has diddly to do with being in the union, it's how long you've been working at RM. Some at my office have well over 30 years at RM, including myself and we're treated every bit as crap as those who've been here 5 minutes :Very Happy

if you piss them off and they leave the business, that's a lot of experience that an office loses

We've always had dreadful managers at my DO, some decent ones to be fair but on the whole pretty awful. Some just bully's, some seemingly genuinely thought everybody was taking the piss because they didn't know how to do a delivery, the good ones, far and few between were always willing to at least listen to the people the shop floor

Thats a bit simplistic the buisness purposely haemorrhaged money union busters were brought in to run it to the ground Simon even admitted this to the select Committee and what else would they say when striking ..lets not win the ballot.

I haven’t been part of the union for 20 years or so now. I was a strike breaker. I didn’t get to vote yes or no.
I don’t see the point in blaming people who vote yes. The deal was recommended by the union and was pretty similar to the deal offered by RM many months ago.

But I would say to people thinking of leaving, make sure you know your job. The management will look for easy pickings and if you are the sort of person that doesn’t like confrontation and feel it’s hard to say no when the manager asks you to complete then you may need the union. It’s still good for that.

Congratulations. I hope you waved your free shopping vouchers in the face of your colleagues and reminded them of the crumbs being offered by this company whilst managers picked up their £1k bonus at the same time
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.
