Seasonal hours: a question

Okay so this may be something that's been answered elsewhere, if so I apologize.
How do seasonal hours affect you if you leave the company?
Say someone leaves next march, technically RM will owe them money, and if someone starts at the beginning of "short hours" and leaves a few months in, they'll owe RM money, right? The whole system only really works if you think nobody will leave or join the business, otherwise it's an admin nightmare.
When you see how many posters on here have left and then had to fight to get their holiday payments, overtime etc...and when you consider that every "lump sum" payment is given in full to everyone and then the many, many part timers have the difference removed from their wage at a later, random date, do Royal Mail actually have the HR/administration capabilities to work all this out? or are they just hoping nobody will notice or care as to them a few hours of our pay is pocket change?

According to the podcast last week any excess hours can be taken as leave once you give any notice in.you would have to listen to it , I think It was Martín Walsh Who mentions it.

Maybe not, but thinking about how they'll work out everyone's back pay with overtime led me to think what a weird lack of thought goes into every admin decision, and it got me wondering

How will that really work in practice, if you work all the winter months then leave in March you could probably hand your notice in on the Friday pm and then not work another day for RM as you'll be on leave during your week's notice period?

As it is limited to 2 hours per week for full timers (4 x 30mins)) and 10 minutes a day for part timers, the most RM would owe you is 28 or 30 hours depending on whether it was a 14 or 15 week time frame

Did I get it correct that SV extra time will mean an earlier start, not a later finish time?

Yes, I think they agreed that you would start 24 minutes earlier. Finish times should remain unchanged, however, in the deal the later finish times could be extended from 60 minutes to 90 minutes. Its not set in stone as each office is different; some will obviously have later finish times than others.

I'd rather have the money for the hours i work that week,another union cock up,work life balance gone,i do not want to work overtime and now you are forcing me and not just that its for free,you couldn't make it up what union would ever agree to this,oh yes the corrupted CWU.
