Anyone would think a great deal of money was being talked about.
If Simon Thompson could read this thread, he'd piss himself laughing.
If £900 isn’t a lot to you then you are privileged.
The irony of working at a company where the big bosses are getting 40 or 50 times a posties salary.
Are they really worth that much?
Do they clock in and out and work all the hours they are being paid? Rico never did when he stayed in his villain mansion in Switzerland, and they paid him a golden hello of £5.8 million. Just like Simon, they had to pay him something substantial as well to get him to leave.
I would say that they are privileged
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.
This ballot needs signing off by the PEC and then RM and a time table for the implementation of the pay part of the offer the back pay and the lump sum may be a fair few weeks away yet.
The business implemented revisions and increased the walks back in February this year. The sick pay is changing at the beginning of next month. Yet we have to wait for some union bureaucracy for our pay rises.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.
The money was the only thing we got a vote on in my opinion we should have had an overtime ban since March 2023 had the talks not gone well. And Now should be in the process of balloting for more action covering us till February 2024. But our union FXXX UP the January 2023 Ballot by not including action short of a strike as well as a strike on the ballot paper!
The £500 is partly paid by the 2 hours per week posties will be giving rm for free. The £900 lump sum is from money in pension fund. All seems a bit desperate. A poorly negotiated settlement on behalf of a clearly defeated cwu.
I realise how poor we are paid when I go for a massage for £80 to £90 per hour.... and no, there is no happy ending....
I have to walk for 7+ hours to be able to afford a 1 hour massage to fix my messed up muscles.
God sake man the going rate for a happy massage is £60 look on Gumtree especially the ones that state "very good with my hands" read between the lines.
didn’t take long for someone to ask , it’s all about the money right ?
If you are that principled you can donate your share to a charity. That would earn my respect.
I’m assuming you didn’t agree with privatisation, did you give your shares back ?
I sold them as soon as I could. What that has to do with anything I am at a loss to see. There was not a vote to privatize RM was there ? I work to live. If I didn't get paid I wouldn't go. Principles are very praiseworthy but they are not worth anything in a supermarket.
