I know a lot of young folk (new starts especially) didn't bother to vote. Some of them didn't even know what they were voting for

Maybe 1/3 of the work force were so disillusioned they chucked it in the bin.
I know myself and a few others did.
It is what it is but good luck engaging everyone on a national level moving forward

Re: The vote is in : 75.8% yes
Really?
75% of people supported a deal that was worse than the first one which we were almost all up for striking over?
I am proud to be different and shall embrace that fact that people just f-ing baffle me.

What it does show for not the first time is that the loudest voices are not always the voice of the majority.
This is one of the most difficult things a union has to deal with from office level right through to national level.
The silent majority are often silent because they cannot be heard over the noise made by the minority.

I didn't vote. I couldn't bring myself to vote yes to this deal. But I also couldn't vote no. Simply because I had no faith that this union could negotiate a better deal. (They clearly had given up) They would have probably gotten us an even worse deal. After we have lost even more money striking.glynnlondon wrote: ↑11 Jul 2023, 16:45Maybe 1/3 of the work force were so disillusioned they chucked it in the bin.

Cool, at this point couldn't of given a s**t whatever happens to this company. You have a union that fumbled the bag majorly, a dumbass board of dipshits that somehow turned a £750 million profit into the sorry state it's in now, and also thick as pig s**t posties that continue to come into work for f**k all, rush around like headless chicken and then moan about more being put on them. Be taking the money and getting the hell outta this circus.

Re: The vote is in : 75.8% yes
I must admit that its a bit surprising that we have gone from a 97% mandate for strike action to a 75% yes vote for this deal just 6 months later.
The CWU leadership have performed quite a turnaround. But then you look at most the comments on the live YT video and you can't help but think otherwise?
Anyway, it is what it is. We live to fight another day.
