Wages docked scan in/scan out

Post by cookie »

I have heard of several staff who have had their wages docked based on the scan in/scan out data not registering. Shouldn't managers look at the paper sign in out sheets which are still in use and PDA data if the scan in/out data is not available? :arrrghhh

The paper signing on sheets went as soon as SISO was introduced at my DO.

Pretty sure u can be counselled for failing to SISO but not have ur wages docked, I’m assuming your designated workload was complete that day, manager sounds like a nonce

Heard too many times of posties being denied the overtime pay they have earned....

Truly awful managers.

Why would anyone bother doing overtime for these managers.

I had my overtime queried as I was told to scan out at the end of my normal shift, not the end of the day when I'd completed my overtime, fortunately the PDA confirmed that I was still out scanning parcels until my overtime had almost ended. I now scan out at the end of the day rather than end of the shift.

Common sense, surely?
How can you prove you did O/T if you scanned out some time before?

Is that not simple to scan in and out? Unless you finished 1 hour early on Saturday and gone home early

Get your pda as soon as you go in and log in,first and foremost it is illegal to dock wages if you fail to clock in and out but have arrived in time and left on time it is the managers duty to check that workers have performed this task due to knowing who and who is not in the building for health and safety purposes, but you can be conducted and dismissed for not doing on a regular basis , but i'd imagine you'd have to do it a lot of times before it got to that, one last thing if your late they can dock your wages, sometimes its better being an hour late than 31 mins so take your time and don't rush better to be safe and arrive alive.

Don't think that's true anymore as the fire brigades will always do their own search of a building and AFAIK they never rely on a role call done by any firm
