This might be the coldest first week of July for many a year - apart from yesterday. I was down in Cotswolds on Thursday and a sales lady had a very thick woollen sweater on.

Spending trillions in the West on climate change measures will make little difference when countries like China (responsible for 25% of global CO2) , India, Pakistan, Brazil, Mexico, Indonesia, Russia and all of Africa ( all together > 60% of the worlds population) carry on as per normal.

That’s right. We should all just give up then because nobody else is trying.

Do you think the expanding middle-classes of those Countries should be permitted to own things that Westerners take for granted such as refrigerators ?
Are you going to give up your Planet killing fridge or do you expect people in emerging economies to go without?

logically no - but practically that is what its going to take - or new technology to solve the issue. Nuclear fusion is our main (only?) hope.

It's very easy to use Google to find which Billionaires own Beachfront real estate.
What percentage of those 97% of Scientists are truly independent and don't rely on money from Billionaire benefactors?
