I have not had my voting papers yet ? who do i contact ? i was one of those that lost £800 plus on strike but havent been given a vote ?
Very late in the day you have no vote same as voter id in the future of this once great nation of ours. Time will tell if democracy is true and fair for this nation but the ballot on the deal is long gone and will not matter either way it will be forgotten by the parties involved!

Time will tell if democracy is true and fair? Aka if the vote doesn’t go in my favour, it was rigged?

it's highly likely going to be a YES vote.

who wants to go on strike again and potentially end up with a worse deal, and Royal Mail likely going into administration.

They have added the new delivery points too the tills they are massive now.
Both the union and the company have had enough time to sort out these unachievable workloads. Instead walks are STILL failing everyday, and what has changed since they announced this so called agreement?

What ever the outcome I just don't trust the company to adhere to the agreement. The USO has been failing for over 3 years and everyone including the customers are suffering.

Imagine you bought a first class ticket on a train but got a 2nd class service with the trains running late, cabins dirty, etc. We deserve better and so does our customers.
Im not suffering,i like our revision only doing a fraction of the walking because of the sheer volume of packets only really doing 1 out of 2 dutys per day then onto tracked and clock out on time, happy days😁
Yes me too, time i get out of the office im walking less than 20 years ago,all those re deliveries (what bright spark came up with that, lose millions in wasting time to save it by closing callers office absolute tools)and more and more collections i too alternate walks every other day so now 2 postmen to do one walk you couldn't make this s**t up,where the hell did they hire these bosses ,PLUTO
Our dom doesn't seem to even care what you leave in anymore its actually quite pleasant to see him so broken.

I can see quite a low turnout as well. Many can’t vote for the deal but probably know that a no vote isn’t an option either.

A no vote takes us back to square one and a yes vote gives away some good aspects of the job. Even the majority of yes voters don’t like the deal but can see there is no other option.

When you try and run a former public company like a private company in the end something has to give and that’s the service element of it.

Maybe if the government and the tax payer want a six day service them maybe they should subsidise or be willing to pay more it. That’s obviously not going to happen so the actual service we offer will suffer as it’s not financially viable.

Sadly it’s always about the money and any pride in the job died a long time ago.

Not at all,you are voting for a pay cut....
Again for the unpteenth and probably last time.
What are you voting for?

We all know what you're voting against but that's the easy part, we can all just keep saying no, it's something we learn as children.

What do you hope for as a resolution to this dispute?
What would be an acceptable deal that would stop you saying no?

An acceptable result would to be in a better financial position than we were a year ago without lesser terms and conditions, if there is a no vote then it’s up to the union to to knuckle down and get something considerably better than what’s on offer. It’s not up-to the workforce to negotiate a deal it’s up to the our representatives to figure this out as this what they are paid to do. However what’s on the table is totally unacceptable and just a way of signing a your conditions for a paltry sum but some thicko’s can’t see it.

Lets all take a cold calculated look at the present and future reality without any emotional involvement.
1. The company is in trouble financially?
Large multi billion companies have at their disposal teams of accountants able to make a company seem as though it is losing money or that it is making money. This comes down to assets, debts, ability to loan, projected profits and losses, share price etc etc. The union know this but have chosen not to push this but rather go along with it.
If a company is projecting losses of such magnitude due to upcoming premeditated industrial action then why voluntarily give away hundreds of millions to shareholders?
2. Are The CWU at the highest levels there for the workers rights?
All Unions have from the very beginning been created in order to appease the workforce into believing that they have some sort of influence and power to withstand their employers injustice. It may seem as though in the past workers have won rights but its an illusion. The trick is for an employer to demand more then settle for less. In this way the worker believes he has won a battle but in actual fact has now accepted some unwanted changes.
Gradually over time the workers rights whither away into the mold that the employer wanted originally but could not demand all at once without having serious unrest.
Our present situation is an excellent case in point.
Our CWU leaders are nothing more then appeasers of the workforce trying to persuade us that we should accept some changes but not all.
3. Are these changes necessary from an operational point of view?
No flights equals less pollution?
Later starts will give customers what they want in terms of parcel deliveries?
New starters given new contracts for more flexibility again for customer parcel deliveries?
All of these changes are only detrimental to us.
The sole reason for change is the removal of a large number of delivery staff needed to sort mail.
New starters to eventually equal or outnumber those on older contracts thus enabling the employer to argue the case for all to be on the new contracts.
In short to create an illusion of financial insecurity in order to change the USO and take away some of our rights.
Voting yes speeds up the process voting no creates a problem for the employer as it has always been easier for the worker to willingly give away his rights and accept gis servitude.

Why are yes voters thicko’s?

Maybe some people see the realism of the situation, maybe some people want stability and don’t want to strike or maybe some people want more money.

Calling people thicko’s or saying they’ve surrendered isn’t going to get people on your side. Maybe come up with your own solution of the situation.

The problems with that position are many and varied but the most important one is this line.
it’s up to the union to to knuckle down and get something considerably better than what’s on offer
It's not like digging a hole and you suddenly realise it's not deep enough so you just need to go back and dig a little deeper.

The important question is why would Royal Mail offer a considerately better something, well they're obviously not going to give that away so they would have to be pressured into it.

That leads to the next question, just what pressure could be applied to Royal Mail to force them into moving so far from the position they are in now?

In reality that means only one thing, industrial action. It is the only weapon any union has in its arsenal.

So your entire acceptable result is based on one thing, that it isn't up to the union to get us a better deal, it's up to us.

So that's where the huge risk in this path becomes clear because I don't think there's anyone capable of uniting the membership enough for further industrial action. We can see that in the language used between what has become two distinct camps.

If a no vote were to happen and the union was forced and brave/stupid enough to call industrial action to force further concessions it would likely be poorly supported and further action would be even more poorly supported until a full collapse and capitulation was inevitable and this would leave the union sitting across the table negotiating from a position much weaker than the one that produced this agreement.

What kind of agreement would be forced on us from that weak position I can only guess but it wouldn't be a pretty scenario.

If understanding that fatal flaw in your theory makes me a thicko so be it.
