This is the first week of the sick note. Then next week will be the second week. I just don’t understand why he would need to contact me twice in one week. Next week I would happily speak to him but twice in one week. What would be the point?

Just because you have a doctors note for two weeks absence, does not mean you will be absent for two weks. You might feel better and return too work after a week. The manager needs to know due to resourcing. If it is a sick note for a month then contacting twice a week will be unreasonable.RebeccaSmackbadger wrote: ↑05 Jul 2023, 22:03This is the first week of the sick note. He's suspicious because you went on sick right after your annual leave maybe? Maybe he's on annual leave the week after and covering his back?RebeccaSmackbadger wrote: ↑05 Jul 2023, 22:03This is the first week of the sick note. Then next week will be the second week. He can ignore it,he has had his call this week he has a sick note for 2 weeks ,i'd phone him next Monday just tell him your not in a good place you'll be seeing the doctor this week and i'll ring you Friday and let you know whats happening. We should all take the bull by the horns and take charge of the situation, you should take control and not let them dictate, and if they phone in between ignore it,and don't forget to keep a diary of contact days and note what is said it will help heaps if you need to take it further. I was off for 2 months with a back problem being signed off for 2 weeks at a time , my discussion was "i have a sick note for 2 weeks and i am very unlikely to return in the next few weeks, feel free to phone me anytime you want but you'll get the same answer,if i dont hear from you i'll phone you the end of week 2 to let you know how im feeling and if i'm coming back" guess what he never phoned me,just be precise and too the point and make them feel that your in charge of your health not them.

listen u don't need to answer all these calls, if ur stressed ur not well to answer all the time, need to think of yourself, if u don't feel up to answering these calls don't bother simple as that, u have a sick note and if they can't get a hold of u then they will send a letter so don't worry their just putting pressure on, best just ignore if u want to and if its something urgent let them send a letter out, so not to worry, take care
