Had a count up yesterday.
Out of 1400 delivery points over 2 walks, there were 146 tracked items.
It will soon get the point where tracked will outnumber letters, seriously.
The management's answer to the problem was try and deliver all the tracked, specials(7), boxes (4), and customer collections (6), and redeliver (12).
Making 175 calls before even touching a letter, because we treat all mail the same, yeah sure.
Tied mail to tracked, rest of walk points forget it.
20 or so tracked dumped on managers desk on return, no thanks to overtime
Rinse and repeat.
The job is gone in its current form.
Knocking Saturdays off won't make a blind bit of difference, other than all the tracked won't get done.

You might get extra Saturday's off, but in return you will need to work more Sunday's, even though at the moment, it's voluntary, like most of the unions policies, they will cave in to meet with RM expectations.

Nothing to see here.

Just Royal Mail management showing a united front, that's all.

Let's be honest, the USO will have to drop at some point. As it's now a business first and service in a distant second. It has to make a profit to survive.

I still believe the USO has no place being run In the private sector. And should be run by the government as a service, that if it makes a profit its a bonus but the wider benefits to the communities and businesses comes before its own profits.

Why would you? Most of the day off covers in our place are new starters now who have Sundays in their contracts. If letters where mon-fri duty holders would be Saturday off. You would cover the Saturday parcels on overtime with volunteers in our place no problem and as for Sunday's there are enough staff they can make work them as they have it in their contracts, I believe they are already doing that now

There has been something very sinister going on in the background that much is clear. First the s**t deal the CWU have settled on and now they are suddenly ready to ditch the sacred shall not be touched USO? It just doesn’t add up. I think the uso should be cut to 5 days for what it’s worth but for the CWU hierarchy to suddenly start saying that is suspicious as f**k.

Is there really genuinely any point in continuing to pay union subs, the union seems to have given Royal Fail carte blanche to whatever they want. I lost 2 weeks pay and 6 months of overtime, now I see Ward bending over backwards for them. RM new sick policy goes live 1st August, the ballot isn't even closed yet
