We’ve already been worn down. I imagine many probably won’t even vote as voting yes is voting for a poor deal and voting no just adds more uncertainty.
Apathy is probably the winner here as many will feel let down by the union but many know we would be completely screwed without it.
I can see a 70% yes vote with about a 65% turnout.

Next steps to me indicates they’re going to discuss what they are going to do next
Think they already had a plan of what to do next if it was a yes vote
So I’d hedge my bets that early indications suggest it’s going to be a no

Rumour has it that RM are bringing over the railway carriage that the 1918 and 1940 armistices were signed in.
Slider tool. Lol.

Just rec'd an email from CWU - usual patter... recommend to Vote Yes, but most important we use our democratic right and VOTE. Nothing much to read among that lines too indicate they know how the ballot is going. Maybe it's going to be Brexit close... 49/51
Recount?

It'll be a decent, but not massive yes vote. 70% or so.
Best course of action will be to use the back pay and pocket money - sorry, lump sum - wisely, then get another job, in Tesco or wherever.
Because all this shows is that RM can do what they want, and there's nothing the CWU can do to stop them. If you think RM will even stick to this crappy agreement, think again.

Nobody is calling any new strikes immediately after a no vote, our position would be far too weak and the danger of half the membership crossing the picket line far too great. We would also need to come up with a plan, find the right people to implement it and schedule talks with Royal Mail to find out their intentions.
There would need to be a new ballot anyway. This one was based on the position we were at in February not the position we are in following the rejection of an endorsed agreement.
Not only would Royal Mail run straight to the courts, our own members who voted yes could legitimately claim that the strike ballot was no longer valid.
I don't think the no voters quite realise how messy a rejection of this agreement could get.

They won't have a clue if it's Yes or No. Only Putin or Kim Jong un has that kinda foresight.

It's not foresight.
It isn't like a general election.
The union will receive updates from cesvotes on the current count.
There's no need for secrecy.

The CWU have spent the last few months telling us that we must accept this agreement, or the Union is basically powerless and finished.
RM will have been listening, and now know that all they need to do is ignore the agreement after the Yes vote, and the Union is powerless and finished. Job done.

Ignore us after a yes vote?
Ignore us after a no vote?
I'm not sure the whole "they'll just ignore us" argument really holds up for either camp.
If they choose to ignore us and tear up this agreement or ignore us and refuse to re-negotiate it won't really matter which way we've voted other than if we vote yes we'll have some kind of payrise and lump sum to spend on going to job interviews.
