Royal Mail has said sorry to residents in Prenton after ongoing issues with delivering post.
One local resident, who asked not to be named, said he hadn’t received “any communication” from the postal service despite contacting customer service numerous times.
He told the Globe that he had not received any post in over three weeks.
He said: “We had a lovely postman who was as regular as clockwork but I haven’t seen him since the problem began.
“Towards the end of the month, I usually get around four or five bank statements and credit card statements and when they didn’t appear I started to get a bit worried because I don’t want to get stung on interest.
“I get quite a lot of mail, so it’s been very noticeable to me. I was quite concerned when I noticed it wasn’t turning up because I had ordered quite a few things off the internet which were to be delivered by Royal Mail.
“I have been in touch with the sellers, and they told me they had sent them in good faith but I’m just worried because there must be a finite limit on the amount of post Royal Mail can hold in the sorting office so I am afraid they might throw it out or lose it if they run out of space.”
A Royal Mail spokesperson said: “We are sorry to residents who have experienced delays in the Prenton area. Improving quality of service is our top priority and we are committed to restoring service levels to where our customers expect them to be.
"At the local delivery office, there have been recent issues with staffing levels. We are bringing in support from elsewhere within Royal Mail, as well as additional agency workers, to help with the current demand.
“Every effort is being made to keep delays to a minimum. Post continues to be delivered, and those who have mail and do not receive it on the day they expect will always be prioritised the following day.
“Across our business we have plans in place to drive service levels. We hope and expect to see further progress in the coming months.”
